Elixinol Joins AHPA: American Herbal Products Association

Elixinol is proud to announce that we are now an Active Member of the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA).

AHPA is a national trade association, consumer advocate, and an industry-leading representative of US-based herbal product marketers, importers, manufacturers, processors, and growers, and “the voice of the herbal products industry”.

“A unified coalition of organizations is growing to usher in the full promise of hemp and its
wellness properties. Elixinol is very proud to join AHPA among the leading hemp associations
that we already champion,” says Joy Beckerman, Regulatory Officer and Industry Liaison for Elixinol.

“AHPA leads the way in its command of the spectrum of issues surrounding herbal products and dietary supplements, and is a key voice in the hemp botanical extract sector, as well as a critical hemp advocacy coalition member,” Beckerman says.

As premier educators and advocates for herbal products, dietary supplements, and producers of those products, AHPA has led the way in these areas for nearly four decades. Their collaboration and leadership in creating standards in the hemp extract industry have been invaluable.

“AHPA’s contributions to this industry-wide cooperative effort are widely appreciated throughout the hemp community,” says Beckerman.

Organizations like AHPA and the US Hemp Authority™ are leading the way together to establish quality assurance standards of excellence for hemp and hemp-derived products. In an industry-wide collaborative effort, the US Hemp Authority created the first certification seals for Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Agricultural Practices in hemp, and that program continues to evolve with input and assistance from AHPA and others throughout the industry.

While AHPA is not exclusively a hemp association, they are one of the first mainstream trade associations to create a Cannabis Committee that focuses on the unique challenges of the emerging hemp extract and CBD industry.

“AHPA are masters of FDA law and regulation, and president Michael McGuffin is internationally renowned for his command of the gauntlet of issues that dietary supplement companies must navigate,” Beckerman says.

“Elixinol is eager to roll up its sleeves alongside AHPA’s Cannabis Committee, which has performed tremendous work to help set standards for the hemp extract sector. We’re grateful for AHPA’s guidance through this general wellness revolution.”
