HR Director, Atlanta


POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for supporting the HR activities in Georgia and any new states that Surterra enters.  The Director of Human Resources will act as the Business Partner to the Executive Team members located in the Headquarters Office in Atlanta.  The position will be the key role in integrating new businesses either through acquisitions or new licenses.  It will also take the lead role in crafting the Employee experience and ensuring alignment with the Customer journey.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Executive team members to devise people strategies to support their functional growth strategies
  • Address any employee relations issues that come up in the Headquarters office and determine if there are underlying systemic issues that also need to be addressed
  • Key member of the HR leadership team which responsibilities include continuous improvement of the HR function and the annual planning cycle
  • Ensure that Surterra’s HR practices stay competitive in the marketplace
  • Drive Employee engagement initiatives and practices across the group
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance.
  • Analyzes HR metrics and makes recommendations for changes to improve them.
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
  • Leads integration activities for all M&A initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.  Masters preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of professional experience with at least 5 years of progressive and hands on HR business partner experience; experience leading OE, OD functions/activities preferred
  • Must have working knowledge and be current with all relevant employment related state and federal laws.
  • Computer skills.  Microsoft Office applications and HRIS programs.
  • Accurate and efficient, high energy and comfortable performing multiple projects.
  • Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with other employees/customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
